## What makes an interface feel great?

I think a lot about what makes an interface feel great.

When you go from using a good product to a great one, you can feel the difference. It's often hard to point to what makes the difference though.

It's usually not a single thing, but instead a lot of small things that add up.

In the age of artificial intelligence, speed alone is no longer an advantage. When most things can be replicated with a single prompt, just building something isn't enough.

Products that stand out and last are built extremely well, with intent and extraordinary care.

That's what Interfaces focuses on.

Read by designers, engineers and design engineers at companies like Anthropic, Vercel, Stripe, Cursor, Figma, Microsoft, Google, Meta, Ramp, Shopify, Lovable, Cognition, Mercor, Profound, Polymarket.

## About Interfaces

Design engineering is growing in popularity, but learning about it is still surprisingly difficult. The best information is scattered across blog posts, courses, tweets and all other corners of the internet.

I write about a number of design engineering topics on my personal website and my posts have been read more than 1,000,000 times.

Interfaces brings all of those topics together in one place, where I share everything I know and continue to learn about design engineering and building great interfaces.

Interfaces is a completely custom-built digital magazine. Each issue is a deep dive into a specific topic and combines writing, interactive demos and code snippets.

## What you'll get

A subscription gives you access to every Interfaces issue, plus the full resources and tools library, agent skills and the private Discord community.

- **New issue every month.** At least one new issue is released every month.
- **Interactive demos.** Explore concepts through interactive demos instead of text alone.
- **Source code.** Most examples and demos include the full source code.
- **Agent skills.** Skills based on topics covered throughout the magazine.
- **Resources and tools.** A curated library of design engineering resources and tools I use.
- **Private Discord community.** Discuss issues, share your work and meet other design engineers.

## About me

Hey, I'm Jakub. I'm currently a founding design engineer at [Interfere](https://interfere.com/). I write articles about a variety of design engineering topics on my [personal website](https://jakub.kr) and I built [oklch.fyi](https://oklch.fyi), a popular tool dedicated to OKLCH colors.

I care deeply about craft and quality and I like to make people feel something through my work. I'm obsessed with details and I spend an unreasonable amount of time making sure they feel right.

Previously, I worked at OpenSea and a few [other companies](https://www.linkedin.com/in/jakubkrehel/). You might have seen some of my work on [Twitter](https://x.com/jakubkrehel) or my code on [GitHub](https://github.com/jakubkrehel).
